House Bill 1219 proposes to amend the Pennsylvania Entertainment Production program as follows:
- Increases the annual funding cap from $100 million to $150 million per fiscal year (July 1 – June 30);
- Creates a new 5% uplift (35% in the aggregate) if the production company films a feature film, television film, or television series in a qualified location;
- Increases the amount of the tax credit that a purchaser or assignee may use against any one qualified tax liability from 50% to 75% of that qualified tax liability; and,
- Increases the annual funding for Pennsylvania film producers from $5 million to 10% of the tax credits authorized.
If enacted, this act will take effect immediately.
