This program is not administered on a first-come, first-served basis. Each project’s eligibility will be determined on a case-by-case basis. A production executive must be available to make a presentation during the committee meeting. If the project is a television series which is continued for a following season, grantee shall have the option to automatically renew this agreement by applying to the OFE within 365 days of the effective date of the approved grant agreement. With respect to the following season, if grantee satisfies all the requirements of the agreement, then grantee may be eligible to receive a second grant award in the same amount as the grant. Miami-Dade County offers a rebate of up to a maximum of $100,000 or $50,000 per project for Tier I and Tier II, respectively. No production company, including a parent company and any of its subsidiaries, may receive a grant for more than two projects in a one-year period from the time of the first application, unless the project is continued for a following season. After the grant application is approved by the BCC, the production company must apply as a registered vendor with Miami-Dade County in order for the County to issue the grant check of $100,000. This registration process may take 4-6 weeks. The production company may apply for a point-of-sale exemption from Florida’s sales tax on certain production related purchases/rentals.
